Betty Jackson has become one of Britain's most celebrated and best loved British designers. Lancashire born designer Betty demonstrated her unwavering creative vision from the very beginning of her design career. She studied at the Birmingham College of Fashion under Designer, Zandra Rhodes and started her own career as a fashion illustrator during her final year of college.
In 1973, Betty started her professional career working with Wendy Dagworthy and later went onto work for Quorum, before setting up her own design company Betty Jackson Ltd with husband David Cohen in 1981.
The range quickly gained recognition within the industry and Betty went on to open her flagship shop on the Brompton Road, London in 1991.
Betty has been showing at London Fashion Week for over 20 years, she was awarded the ÂBritish Designer of the Year' award in 1985 and has received countless awards since including ÂDesigner of the Year' again in 1999. Betty was also involved in the TV Show ÂAbsolutely Fabulous' and created notorious costumes for the lead characters: Eddy and Patsy.
In 2007 Betty Jackson was honored with a CBE. Betty has become a patron of British style and continues to show at London Fashion Week.
Betty joined the Designers at Debenhams portfolio in 2005, launching the highly successful Betty Jackson.Black range. The collection incorporated womenswear, accessories and homeware. 2009 saw the launch of Betty Jackson.Black Beauty.
